Ian Pollock
Director and Co-founder

Since 2008, Ian, a native of Vermont and a graduate of Skidmore College, has spent summers living and working on Block Island. Ian is a Nationally Certified Emergency Medical Technician and also obtained his degree in neuroscience with a concentration in early childhood development. He is currently finishing his teaching certification for 7th-12th grade general science and biology. In addition to his three years directing the Fishing Academy he was previously the Athletic Director at Sonatina Summer Camp. Ian has coached soccer, hockey, and lacrosse at both the youth and high school levels.

Greg Swienton

A native to the island, Greg graduated from the Block Island School and went on to attend and graduate from the University of Miami with a degree in business administration. Now a third generation Block Islander, he gives credit to his father and grandfather who taught him everything he knows about fishing. Greg coached several youth league teams in high school and he worked as a camp counselor from 2004–2009 at the Block Island summer baseball and basketball camps.
