About

The Fishing Academy was co-founded and directed in 2010 by Ian Pollock, a Vermont native who spent summers living and working on Block Island, bringing joy to the lives of the many children he taught to fish.

Today, the Fishing Academy honors his memory by serving as a nonprofit foundation. Funds beyond the cost of staffing and equipment are used to provide children from low-income families with engaging, high quality fishing instruction.

The Block Island Fishing Academy functions on modest tuition fees and generous donations from our benefactors. If you would like to support this mission, please consider making a donation. Donations can be sent to: The Block Island Fishing Academy, P.O. Box 752, Manchester, VT 05254
